NAYES NATIONAL EXECUTIVES PARTICIPATE IN THE ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING OF YPDC
On December 30, 2024, the executives of the National Association of Yewa Students (NAYES) National Body, ably led by Com. Tella Faruq Ayobami, was among Pan-Yewa Associations that attended the Yewa People Development Council (YPDC) Inaugural Annual General Meeting held at the Private Palace of the Paramount Ruler, Ilaro-Yewa, Ogun State.
The Paramount Ruler of Yewaland and President of the Board of Trustees (BOT) of YPDC, HRM Alayeluwa Oba (Dr.) Kehinde Gbadewole Olugbenle, FNIVS, FNIM, RSV, D.Sc, D.Litt., warmly welcomed Royal Fathers, the YPDC Chairman, and other critical stakeholders to the historic meeting. His Majesty charged all stakeholders to do more to accelerate development of Yewaland. He also officiated the admission of the Olofin of Ado-Odo into the Board of Trustees of YPDC, further strengthening the council’s leadership.
The Chairman of YPDC, Professor Abdul Rahman Bello, presented a comprehensive report on the council’s achievements and future goals, while the Secretary-General, Pastor Bamidele Akinola, delivered updates on secretariat operations.
In his address, HRM Oba Lukmon Kuoye, the Olu of Imasayi Yewa expressed concern about the pristine revulsion in some sections of Yewa students where some students who lost in election are going about instituting parallel factions in a student body of Yewaland (NAYES). He condemned the actions and urged parents’ or guardians of those student to call them to order and not bring factions into NAYES which has never experienced such in its decades of existence and factionalization must cease immediately to avoid severe consequences.
During the meeting, the Chairman of YPDC Professor Abdul Rahman Bello formally presented Com. Tella Faruq Ayobami and his executive team to the Royal Fathers and distinguished stakeholders as the only recognized executives of the National Association of Yewa Students (NAYES) National Body. He reiterated YPDC’s unwavering support for the legitimate leadership of NAYES in fostering unity and progress among Yewa students.
The event marked a significant step in aligning the vision of NAYES with the broader developmental goals of Yewaland.
