The Ogun II Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) announced that it generated ₦12.83 billion in revenue for the federation between January and June 2024, marking a 51% increase from the ₦8.5 billion generated during the same period last year. Area Comptroller Bisi Alade revealed this during a press briefing in Abeokuta, emphasizing the command’s diligence, professionalism, and dedication to bolstering the national economy.
Alade highlighted the significant improvement in activities within the free trade zones, with collections of ₦3.486 billion in April, ₦2.801 billion in May, and ₦3.664 billion in June. He also noted the discovery and registration progress of 11 factories and one bonded terminal, including Sygen Pharmaceutical Limited, Sprout and Kingsberg Nigeria Limited, and others.
The command pledged to sustain efforts in enhancing revenue collection, engaging local communities, and ensuring compliance with government fiscal policies.
